In February 2017, TENNET, a company operating the very high voltage electricity network with headquarters in the Netherlands operating in the German market, for whom work as a qualified supplier has given us a huge challenge - certification by the Dutch Safety Culture Ladder (SCL).
To date, there is no certification body in Portugal with competence for such certification.
In this regard, on June 29th, we held a technical session in which our main business partners (customers, service providers and subcontractors) were present to let them know what this standard consists of and what we are doing, to achieve the SCL Certification in December this year.
For this reason, we also launched this challenge to APCER, the certifying entity that we privilege, so that in the near future you can work with us in this area.
This standard, unlike OHSAS and even ISO 45001, goes further because it requires the implementation of a safety culture and safe behaviors.
It essentially promotes communication and defines 5 levels of safety culture. Silva & Vinha, S.A. and even TENNET itself, want certification at level 3, given the degree of difficulty at the other levels.
We will be pioneers in this certification in Portugal and therefore, the aim of this session was to make known the step we intend to take and above all, to make our subcontractors aware of these practices, at least whenever they are at Silva & Vinha's service, since they will be involved in this process.
The way forward is this, for everyone, in the near future.
To all who participated and made their time available to be with us, thank you very much.
